Early voting is open in Indiana for next month's election.

About a quarter of Indiana's votes the last two elections have been cast in advance of Election Day. Unlike absentee voting, you don't need a specific reason to come in early, just remember your photo ID.

The hours differ from one county to the next, though state law requires early voting be available on at least one weekend.

In Marion County, early voting runs from eight a-m to five p-m through Friday of this week. Starting October 15, the county will offer early voting every day until the mandatory cutoff at noon the day before Election Day.

In some counties, early voting won't start until Tuesday because some clerks' offices closed for Columbus Day.
