The Indiana Chamber of Commerce today unveiled a new online jobs database.
It's called IndianaSkills.com. Indiana Chamber Vice President Derek Redelman says it's specifically geared toward Hoosier job seekers who've graduated from high school but have less than a four-year college degree. Redelman says this follows word from employers across Indiana who claim to have thousands of open jobs that fit in the "middle skills arena." In short, the jobs require a high school degree and some on-the-job training or certificates.
Redelman says they took a year to work on the site. He says it includes all of the job postings they could possibly find. Redelman says there are definitely good paying jobs that only require two-year degrees and IndianaSkills.com aims to help users find those jobs. He says the site is free of charge. Redelman says they hope to expand the site and update it regularly.
