Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a man late Monday night on the city's south side.
24-year-old Brandon Hicks was arrested Tuesday morning after being questioned about the shooting by detectives. Police were called to the Krazy Street Bar and Grill in the 400 block of East Thompson Road just before 11:00 Monday night on a report of multiple shots fired. A witness called 911 saying a fight occurred inside the bar and someone had been shot.
Officers found 29-year-old Joshua Bolin of Greenwood suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Hicks was also injured after accidentally shooting himself during a struggle with bar employees who restrained Hicks until police arrived. Hicks' injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Hicks is being held in the Marion County Jail and awaits formal charges from the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
