Two bridges will span the Ohio River as part of the Ohio River Bridges Project.
Listen:
Chicago-based Walsh Construction has just been approved to link Kentucky and Indiana. Governor Mitch Daniels says the $850 million price tag on the Ohio River Bridges project will be worth the expense and pay dividends, saying existing companies will grow, but in 10 years the bridges project could provide an economic engine that is the envy of the state.
There will be a toll to drive across the Ohio River but with at least one portion of the project coming in under-budget by 23 percent, Daniels hinted that there might be some room to bring toll prices down.
