Almost 6,000 workers are on strike nationwide but for Indiana, 750 employees from four factories are speaking out against Hostess.
Listen:
The company has announced they are winding down company operations - something that's no surprise to Jeff Ruff, a baker who worked at the Columbus Indiana plant. Ruff says in meetings ahead of the strike, Hostess management made it clear that the company was going to fold.
It has been a full week since the workers went on strike, they are asking for their pension back and for salaries to stay the same. Gregory Rayburn, Hostess CEO, says he regrets the decision, but the company will move quickly to lay off close to 19,000 employees.
Hostess will continue to deliver and sell products that have already been produced until they run out.
