The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles today announced a new initiative aimed at further reducing customer lines at BMV offices.
Deputy Commissioner Dennis Rosebrough says they've launched a new app that's available on Apple and Android mobile devices. Rosebrough calls the free app a win-win situation for the BMV and some five million licensed drivers with seven million registered vehicles in Indiana. Rosebrough says the app makes since because 70 percent of all registration renewals in Indiana now take place outside of license branches, mainly on the myBMV.com website.
He says that's where the link for the app can be found and downloaded free of charge. Rosebrough says the app will help free up customer service representatives who will be able to spend more time helping those who need help in the branches. Rosebrough says everything that's now do-able on the website will be accessible through the app. That includes registration and plate renewals. The app also includes a branch locator feature.
