Listen:
Hundreds of parishioners packed the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Indianapolis for the installation mass of Joseph Tobin. The mass was notable for elaborate yet sacred ceremony. Tobin is now the 6th Archbishop of Indianapolis. He succeeds Archbishop Daniel Buechlein who retired for health reasons.
Tobin has said that faith continues to crucial during uncertain times. He's a Detroit native and product of Irish immigrant parents and Catholic schools.
Those in attendance included Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, federal judges Jane Magnus Stinson and Tonya Walton Pratt and St. Vincent Hospital CEO Vince Caponi.
Parishioners say it was very important for them to see the ceremony in person. Some say they believe the experience will strengthen their faith.
