Indiana's Flu Season is Average This Year
Indiana is experiencing a pretty average flu season this year.
Indiana State Epidemiologist Pam Pontones says the flu is popping up early in some parts of the country, but that won't change Indiana's game plan when it comes to battling the flu bug. Typically the peak of flu season is February, give or take a few weeks, and so far Indiana is on par with a typical flu season.
Pontones says weather usually doesn't play a factor when it comes to the flu. She says it is more about contact, and less about weather conditions because it spreads from person to person.
Pontones says even though we have had some flu show up in Indiana, it isn't too late to get your flu shot.
