A 14-month-old child was found wandering around at a Motel 6 in Speedway Tuesday night.

Speedway Police Detective Jim Thiele says toddler had been left in one of the hotel rooms and somehow made it out of the room.  Thiele says someone at the hotel noticed the child and called police.  The Department of Child Services was also called to the scene

The child's mother showed up later with her three other children.  All four children have been taken away by DCS officials.  Police are still investigating as to why and for how long the child was left alone.

The mother has not been arrested at this time.  Thiele says the investigation is ongoing and detectives will review the facts with the prosecutor's office to determine if any charges will be filed against the mother.
