IU Health Employees to be Fired Over Flu Vaccinations

About 175 employees are losing their jobs because of the IU Health Network's new policy regarding flu shots.

The employees were given numerous chances if they didn't get their vaccination by December 15th, but now over the next several weeks, IU Health expects to let the unvaccinated workers go.  More than 25,000 employees complied with the mandatory flu shot policy.

The hospital network refused to comment on the firings, but did say the policy was rooted in health concerns for patients, who might be vulnerable to contracting the flu
