Some Indiana businessmen are determined to get Washington to do something to lower the nation's $16 trillion (and counting) debt.
Listen:
They've launched, "Fix the Debt Indiana." It's the Indiana chapter of the nationwide "Campaign to Fix the Debt." Indiana is one of six state chapters to join the effort this week. Currently, 23 states are part of the campaign. Indiana Manufacturers Association CEO Pat Kiely says the goal is to get Congress to reach bipartisan pacts on all fiscal issues that are harming the nation and casting uncertainty over the continuing economic recovery.
Thompson Distribution Company CEO John Thompson is also part of the effort. Thompson says the nation's debt is out of control and needs to be reigned in to bring the nation back on the road to fiscal health and security.
