A suspect in the robbery of a BMO Harris Bank branch in Greenwood is in custody.
Greenwood Police say 28-year-old Justin Earl Ray of Lynn, Indiana was arrested Tuesday after IMPD received a tip he was staying a friend's house in Indianapolis. Ray is accused of robbing the bank at gunpoint Monday afternoon and leaving with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured during the robbery.
When IMPD officers arrived to the home in the 600 block of North Bradley, the home's owner allowed them inside and the officers found Ray hiding in an upstairs closet. He was found with die-stained money believed to be part of what was taken during the robbery. Greenwood detectives arrived at the home and transported Ray to the Johnson County Jail.
Ray is being charged with felony armed robbery and criminal confinement along with a misdemeanor charge of pointing a firearm. He's being held on $82,000 bond.
