Governor Mike Pence has stopped support of a fertilizer manufacturing plant in Posey County.

Governor Pence cited federal concerns for suspending support of the project by Midwest Fertilizer Corporation of the Fatima Group in Posey County. Pence told the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) to halt the project pending further investigation after learning the group has been considered less than cooperative with the U.S. Department of Defense and their efforts to eliminate IED's in central and south Asia.

The state informed Fatima of the project deferment in a letter dated January 15th.
