Two juveniles involved in a crime spree across Indianapolis on Wednesday have been charged with Robbery.
The charge stems from the pistol-whipping and robbery of 44-year old Trina Bagley in the garage of her south side home. The two are suspects in a string of other crimes that happened later Wednesday morning.
IMPD Deputy Chief of Investigations Gregory Bieberich says the two are suspects in the attempted robbery of 62-year old Kenneth Winslow as he walked around his south side neighborhood. The two are also suspected in the shooting death of 38-year old John Yingling. Yingling was shot to death as he sat in his car outside his home.
The two are also accused of shooting at 64-year old Rex Souter as he walked his dog on the northwest side. The two led police on a chase in a stolen SUV that ended with a four car crash in Brownsburg. Two people were taken to a hospital following the crash.
Police recovered a gun Wednesday that was thrown from the stolen SUV during the chase. Police also continue to search for other evidence possibly thrown from the vehicle into Eagle Creek.
The 17 year old suspect is still being treated for an unrelated condition at Wishard Hospital. The 15-year old is in custody. Police say both have extensive juvenile criminal records, and one of them was on probation and wearing an ankle monitor when he was taken into custody. Deputy Chief Bieberich says he expects additional charges to be filed in the next few days.
