State of the Air 2013 Report Released
The Indianapolis metro area is tied for 19th in the nation for short term particle pollution in the American Lung Association "State of the Air 2013" report. Marion County is tied for being the 24th most polluted county in the nation.
Indianapolis has showed improvement from 2009, but still earns a failing grade. The metro area received an "F" for short term particle pollution, due to too many days of unhealthy particle pollution. Ozone levels in Marion County worsened as well, resulting in a "D" grade, which is down from a "C" grade the previous year.
The report found more than 131.8 million people in the country still live in counties that have unhealthy levels of ozone or particle pollution
