Two people were injured, one critically, in a crash involving three vehicles on the city's south side Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the intersection of Madison Avenue and Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive around 5:00 on a report of the crash.  The driver of one of a Toyota Prius, a 77-year-old man, suffered serious injuries.  He was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition.  Due to the seriousness of his injuries, police are not releasing his name.

A second driver, 48-year-old Richard Rodgers, was taken to Franciscan St. Francis Health South Hospital in good condition with minor injuries.  The third driver, 80-year-old Waymond Dickinson was checked out by EMS personnel and released with no injuries.

Investigators believe the Prius was traveling southbound on Madison and for reasons unknown, veered into the turn lane for Pleasant Run Parkway North where it collided with Rodgers' truck.  After the initial collision, the Prius then collided with Dickinson's car.

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
