Fountain Square Coming Back
It's emerging as one of the hippest areas in the City of Indianapolis. The Fountain Square district on the city's near southeast side is on an economic upswing.
The latest figures show that since 1991, developers have poured about $35 million into redevelopment. City County Councilman Jeff Miller says money has been spent on improving housing, attracting business, investment and events and fostering education.
Miller says the revamped Fountain Square Theater, Indy Cultural Trail, the plaza area with working fountains, the Pleasant Run Trail and new sidewalks and paved streets are all part of the district's new look.
