Police have identified the man who was shot and killed outside a northwest side nightclub early Friday morningafter stabbing two other people.

Police say 33-year-old Andrew Sobers attempted to enter the Black Diamond nightclub in the 3800 block of Lafayette Road shortly before 3:00 but became angry with staff members and patrons after being denied entrance.  An argument ensued between Sobers and three other men, two of whom were stabbed with a knife by Sobers.

The third man, Dennis Turentine, pulled out a gun and shot Sobers, killing him instantly.  IMPD officers arrived and detained several people including Turentine.  The stabbing victims were taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

Investigators believe the incident was isolated.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
