A capital murder trail in Floyd County started with several hours of gruesome testimony.
After opening remarks and the testimony of three New Albany police officers in the morning, lead detective Carrie East was questioned on her interview of William Clyde Gibson. The video of her interview with Gibson was admitted as evidence which featured Gibson's emotional confession that he killed 75 year old Christine Whitis. Prosecutor Keith Henderson says he expects the trial, including any potential penalty phase, to be wrapped up in 2 weeks.
