Police are looking for at least three suspects after a woman was shot during a home invasion on Indy's north side.

IMPD Lieutenant Chris Bailey says it occurred around 7:00 a.m. when several men entered a home near 79th Street and College Avenue. Sometime during the robbery, Bailey says a woman was shot in the leg. The woman and her daughter were taken to a hospital.  Bailey was not sure of the woman's condition.

Police tell our news gathering partners at RTV6 that rape is being investigated in the case as well.  Police say one of the women was sexually assaulted and one of them was raped by the men.

Bailey says investigators aren't sure if there was any other motive besides robbery.  He says several items were taken from the home. Three cars were also stolen from the driveway of the house as the robbers left, but Bailey says all three have been recovered.

So far, police don't know whether or not the victims knew the bandits.
