Bisard Found Guilty on All Charges
A jury in Fort Wayne has found suspended Indianapolis Police Officer David Bisard Guilty on all charges
Bisard was charged with reckless homicide, criminal recklessness and drunk driving causing death in a fatal crash in August 2010. Prosecutors say Bisard was drunk when he crashed his patrol car into a group of motorcyclists stopped at light. Eric Wells was killed and Mary Mills and Kurt Weekly were seriously injured.
The trial was moved from Indianapolis to Fort Wayne in Allen County because of extensive media coverage. Bisard faces a maximum of 26 years in prison, since they will be served concurrently, and a $90,000 fine. Bisard will be sentenced on Tuesday, November 26th at 1:30pm.
