Winter Storm Warning Coming for Central Indiana

The latest weather event has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning for much of Indiana.

National Weather Service Meteorologist John Hendrickson says a couple of inches of snow will begin to fall Tuesday afternoon, with a total of 5-8 inches along the I-70 corridor. Some areas in northern Indiana could get 7-10 inches of snow.

Hendrickson says the southern part of the state will see some different weather in this storm. He says Bloomington, Columbus and other cities in the southern part of the state will see more of a wintry mix. Freezing rain/sleet will mix with the snow and will change over to all snow by late Tuesday night. Hendrickson says 3-5 inches of snow will fall in southern Indiana.

Hendrickson says wind speeds will pick up and temperatures will drop after the snow and ice. He expects a high of 10 in northern Indiana, 14 in Indy and closer to 20 degrees in the southern part of the state.
