Stan Lehr


WIBC Managing Editor Stan Lehr has come full circle, once again becoming an afternoon news anchor on WIBC. He was the morning news anchor of WIBC from 1994 through October 2007. Stan joined the station in 1993 and worked briefly as a reporter and afternoon news anchor before taking over the morning news position.

Prior to coming to Indianapolis, this Missouri native worked as a News Director, anchor, and reporter at radio stations in Norfolk, Nebraska; Dubuque, Iowa; St. Joseph, Missouri; and "both" Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas. Stan began his career at a small station in his hometown of Trenton, Missouri. At the age of 16, he was calling football and basketball games for the Trenton High School Bulldogs.

Stan has won numerous awards over the years from organizations such as the Society of Professional Journalists, Associated Press, and Radio & Television News Directors Association as well as the Missouri Broadcasters Association and the Association of News Broadcasters of Kansas. He received special recognition for his reporting on the Denny's hostage situation in Indianapolis in 1994, where he was the first reporter on the scene.

Stan is 1974 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, where he received a B.S. degree in Communications.
