Crash Involving Train, Car in Johnson Co.

A woman was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital after the crash in Edinburgh.

EDINBURGH, Ind. -- A woman was taken to the hospital Monday after a crash between a car and a train in Johnson County.

The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. at East Main Cross Street, just east of North Holland Street in downtown Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Police Chief David Mann told The Republic newspaper in Columbus that  "firefighters had to pry off a door" to reach the woman, who was trapped inside the vehicle.

The woman's name has not been released.
