What a Radiothon!
The event kicked off at Emmis Communications at 6:00 am with Indy's Morning News, which featured an interview with Charlotte Jones Anderson, Dallas Cowboys Executive VP & Chief Brand Officer. She is also the first woman to ever serve as Chairman of The Salvation Army's National Advisory Board. Along with the Indiana Division's own Major John Turner and Indy Car driver Joseph Newgarden, they described to the WIBC listeners the many needs that The Salvation Army is able to address through its varied programs and services.
Later in the morning, host Greg Garrison was joined on air by Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, who spoke of the specific needs that Hoosiers in central Indiana face during the harsh winter months and throughout the year. Steve Klipsch is a Salvation Army Advisory Board member who supports the Indiana Division in many ways:
"The reason why I'm involved is because it affects the community in such a big way and no matter what your issue is, no matter what your concern is, The Salvation Army is there and making a difference. It is just such a comprehensive way to do so much good and it doesn't take very much to do good."
