The First Day Show with Amber Stearns is a relaxed, Sunday-morning look at top stories in the news, weekend events and interviews with interesting Hoosiers.

Before coming to WIBC a couple years ago, Amber worked in Kokomo, where she served as News Director/Asst. Program Director at WIOU-AM/WZWZ-FM for over a decade. She has also worked at WBAT-AM/WCJC-FM in Marion.

She was a Marconi Award Finalist for "Small Market Personality of the Year" in 2002 with WZWZ co-host Allan James, and has earned many other awards during her career, including 2007 Best Breaking News Coverage in radio by the IBA. Amber is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, and the 2nd vice-president of the Indiana Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists

She is a graduate of North Central High School and has a B.S. in Electronic Media from the University of Indianapolis. Amber is very active with her alma mater, serving on the University of Indianapolis Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Amber resides with her son on the northside of Indianapolis.

American Idol - What's Up?

We're gearing up for another season of American Idol.

But, before we get into this new season you might want to catch up on the lives of some of the past season alumni and their career success. From time to time we'll give you an ear-full of Idol chatter.

Several albums have been released, are near release dates and in production for last years stars of American Idol.

Last year's season 8 key hopefuls and winners have been very busy. Season 8's winner Kris Allen, runner-up Adam Lambert and third place finisher Allison Iraheta, all released albums in November and December, 2009.

Previous season stars Blake Lewis and David Archuleta rolled out new albums in October, 2009.
