Each week, Denny talks about how to access and sort through the Morningstar website. Now, you really can obtain decent research information about your mutual funds. Here’s what you need to do:
Click to
www.morningstar.com.
In the top menu bar, click Funds.
In the left-hand margin column, click Instant X-Ray.
Enter each fund’s ticker symbol in the field(s), one ticker per field (left column).
Enter the holding value (in dollars) for each mutual fund (right column). (Note: The total dollar value of the portfolio should appear in the field at the bottom.)
Click Show Instant X-Ray.
And that’s it! You’re now well on your way to getting the solid financial information about your investments that is so vital within the portfolio decision-making process.
