Sunday With Tab from Tabernacle Presbyterian Church
Sunday with Tab has been on the air for 30 years in Indianapolis
and over 10 years on WIBC. The program features the great sermons
from Tab’s pulpit, as well as beautiful music from the Tabernacle
Sanctuary Choir. The pastor is Rev. L. John Gable.
Tab was founded in 1851 and has been in its present building at
34th and Central since 1921.
As an answer to Christ’s call to love the least of our brothers
and sisters, Tab has a rich history of working in the neighborhood
surrounding the church. We have a soup kitchen called Tab’s
Open Door, open Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We also have a Thursday
night children’s program for kids in the neighborhood. Tab
has birthed many neighborhood and city ministries and institutions,
including the Raphael Health Center, the Neighborhood Christian
Legal Clinic, and The Oaks Academy. We continue to partner with
all three as well as many other neighborhood programs and minitries.
Tab’s Recreation Ministry (www.tabrecreation.org)
is known city-wide for providing sports opportunities for children.
Boys and girls team faith, fun and fellowship through football,
basketball, soccer, cheerleading, track, chess and more. The Recreation
Ministry is in its 9th decade.
Tab’s Media Ministry, creators of Sunday with Tab also produces
an annual Christmas special, airing on WFYI-TV 20, as well as other
music and arts specials. Click
