Donnelly Leads in Two New Polls

Two new polls out this week show good news for incumbent U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly as the campaign enters the final stretch.

Fox News Poll gives Donnelly a seven-point lead over Republican challenger Mike Braun, 45-38.   Libertarian Lucy Brenton comes in at 5 percent.

Meanwhile, An NBC News/Marist poll gives Joe Donnelly a smaller lead.

In a two-way contest, Donnelly leads Braun 48-46. However, when Lucy Brenton is factored in it’s 45-42-7.

A breakdown of both polls is below.

Fox News Poll  (722 LV / Margin of error 3.5%)

  • Joe Donnelly - 45
  • Mike Braun - 38
  • Lucy Brenton - 5

NBC/Marist Poll  (Two-Way Race) (496 LV / Margin of error 5.5%)

  • Joe Donnelly - 48
  • Mike Braun - 46

NBC/Marist Poll  (Three-Way)

  • Joe Donnelly - 45
  • Mike Braun - 42
  • Lucy Brenton - 7

The Real Clear Politics average of polls gives Donnelly a +0.8 lead over Braun.

Donald Trump's approval rating in both polls is about 50 percent.
