A new report from non-profit ProPublica revealed that billionaires Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk were able to avoid paying federal income taxes in certain years.

Amazon’s Jeff Bezos paid no income tax in the years 2007 and 2011.

Tesla founder Elon Musk avoided paying income tax in 2008.

The report also disclosed that Michael Bloomberg managed to avoid federal income taxes in recent years, as did billionaire investor Carl Icahn. George Soros, the patron saint of the liberal left paid no federal income tax three years in a row.

Warren Buffett, the chief executive and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, has avoided the most tax, according to the ProPublica report, paying a tax rate of 0.1% on the $24.3 billion in wealth he accumulated between 2014 and 2018.

It is illegal for the IRS to give out the personal returns of any individual. So how did ProPublica obtain the data? They’re not saying, but they did disclose that they have the tax returns for thousands of the nation’s wealthiest people, covering more than 15 years.

If ProPublica’s claims are true, it’s also likely that the American people could soon learn how much former President Donald Trump has paid to the IRS in recent years.
