The Surprising Reason More Men Are Opting for Male Surgical... Uh... 'Enhancement'
More and more men are forking over big bucks to plastic surgeons in hopes of becoming... well... bigger.
The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery carried out 45,604 penis enhancements worldwide between 2013 and 2017, according to a new study.
The surgery is not without its risks. In some cases, the surgery resulted in infections, lumps and erectile dysfunction. A 30-year-old man in Stockholm reportedly died from cardiac arrest following an enlargement procedure.
Meanwhile, the primary reason men are opting for the surgery is apparently NOT to please their partners.
“These are the men who come to us,” said Amr Raheem, andrology specialist at University College London Hospitals. “They are not necessarily small, but they want to feel more confident. In front of women, yes, but in front of other men, too, down the gym, that sort of thing.”
Yep, it's all about guys wanting to impress other guys - keeping up with the Joneses (or Johnsons as the case may be).
