All politicians bend the truth from time to time, but when it comes to Joe Biden, it’s hard to differentiate between intentionally misleading statements versus early-onset dementia.

Last Thursday, for example, Biden falsely claimed in an interview with “The Breakfast Club” that he has received the official endorsement of the NAACP “every time I’ve run” – a statement intended to bolster his credentials in supporting the black community.

Fun Fact: Joe Biden led an effort in the Senate to end court-ordered busing amid a school desegregation lawsuit in Delaware in the 1970s.

“Take a look at my record,” Biden said in the interview. “I extended the Voting Rights Act for 25 years. I have a record that is second to none. The NAACP’s endorsed me every time I’ve run. Take a look at the record.”

Fun Fact, The Sequel: The NAACP is a 501(c)(3) and does not endorse candidates or political parties.

Fun Fact, The Reality: We all know the NAACP unofficially leans liberal and would likely support Biden over Trump if it could. To do so, however, would jeopardize the organization’s non-profit status.

Derrick Johnson, president and CEO of the NAACP, pushed back against Biden’s claim in a statement Friday.

What Derrick Johnson said:

“Yesterday, former Vice President Joe Biden made a comment about the NAACP’s endorsement. We want to clarify that the NAACP is a non-partisan organization [stifles laughter] and does not endorse candidates for political office at any level.

“Our primary focus at this moment is to ensure that our communities that have been victims of domestic terrorism and disproportionately impacted by this pandemic have the opportunity to cast their powerful vote come November.” [hint hint wink wink nudge nudge]

What Derrick Johnson Meant: “We think Trump is racist, we blame him for every single COVID-19 death in the black community, and desperately urge all people of color to exercise their right to vote his ass out in November.”

JOE BIDEN: A PROLIFIC HISTORY OF RACISM AND RACIST STEREOTYPES”

Last year, Richard ‘Mouse’ Smith, the former President of the Delaware NAACP, defended Biden in an op-ed that claimed the former Vice President “has been at the forefront of advancing and safeguarding equal rights and combating institutional racism” for decades.

Fun Fact, The Rerun: Joe Biden led an effort in the Senate to end court-ordered busing amid a school desegregation lawsuit in Delaware in the 1970s.

A Biden official attempted to provide political cover for Biden on Saturday, telling Fox News that the former Vice President “was referring to his ratings from the organization.”

Was Biden intentionally lying about the NAACP’s endorsement or was this latest incident just the next in a savory collection of times that the former VP has gone against the strict orders of advisors and strategists to only utilize his mouth for eating and drinking, but never speaking?
