Spreading Awareness for Colorectal Cancer with First Day

In addition to being Women's History month, March is also National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Terri Stacy invited Dr. Dipen Maun to the First Day to help shine some light on the disease, which is said to be the 3rd most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States.

Dr. Maun specializes in colon and rectal surgery at Franciscan Heatlh. He says you should have your first screening for colon cancer at age 50, unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Dr. Maun mentions that the preparation the day before a screening can be challenging, but he assures you that the actaul screening, itself, is nothing to stress over. He also shares his thoughts on the "To Your Door Screening Kits," advertised on 93 WIBC.
