GARRISON: Ok, So He's No Henry Kissinger...

For about five decades the sonorous bass tones and clipped German delivery have set the old man atop the world’s competition for coolest, smoothest, most sincere and sage of all the Free World’s persona; like Reagan, Mr. Kissinger he has always had a knack for disarming the opposition, for quickly receding into the aura of wisdom and clarity and for coming out on top of the savoir-faire championships.  Even when we turned inward at the end of his remarks on a given subject of the more grave importance (intoned so that we realized he had said something that made absolutely no sense to us) he still always has had that sagacity and evenness that we all find reassuring.

Not so the Donald.  He is brash, at times hot headed and—we think—needlessly caustic and even just plain suicidal in his apparent pursuit for Jerk of the Year honors.  Yes he drives me nuts with such antics and repeated, almost incessant proofs that he is in danger of becoming unhinged at the most critical moment.  And to make things worse, he has that awful proclivity of hiring his kids and waaaaayyyyy too often, of hiring the enemy to work for him.  One cringes in such moments.  But let us look at the record with regard to such critical moments.

Tyrants gas their own people in Syria; Putin gets clear over his skis in the Middle East or in his arch-typically Russian provocations.  Turkey’s Erdogan decides it’s a great idea to run over, shoot, burn or blow up Europeans at will a he continues to do what he considers Allah’s work.   And that little maniac in North Korea keeps playing with nuclear fire that can only be expected to take instant care of his population problem if he dares attempt a nuclear strike.  In each of these instances the case is overwhelming that Trump acted swiftly but not reflexively, decisively but in measured degree.  He has, much differently than in his trademark bursts of adolescence on Twitter, thought things through, disarmed the critics in the main, and ended up alone at the top of the high ground.

We didn’t even get to the economy yet.  While gloom and fiscal doom emanate from the ignorant mouthpieces of all the usual suspects, his genius for money and wealth races away from all the crybabies still sitting at the starting line whining about non-issues and a whole array of crapola that neither the electorate nor the economy care about.  Look where we are, my friends, at the hand of this uncouth twitter meister.  The Dow is routinely floating at or around 25 grand, the military is paying its ultimate in public servants more, companies large and small declare their ebullience and confidence by investing, hiring building and racing ahead to greater financial heights for all of us, and most of all—and this one just KILLS the left and their band of sullen nincompoops in the media—the biggest employers are handing out bonuses in the thousands and hundreds of thousands of dollars to their employees across the board while routinely raising their wages by 15 to 20%.  That’s the reality of economic growth that accompanies tax cuts and encouragement to employers to take necessary risks.

One of the great lies—and there are many—perpetuated by the Schumers and the Pelosi types in Washington, is that they somehow at some esoteric level are the champion of the Middle Class and the great protectors of the down trodden and under-privileged among us.  Well that’s a lot of barnyard fertilizer my friends.  They are in every way the very elites that snake oil salesmen like Barack Obama become, nuvo rich, the avaricious mongers who never see anything of those they claim to represent.

Enter the Donald; he’s made more payrolls, hired and paid more blue and white collar Americans than the entire Dem delegations in both Houses of the Congress put together, and for all his bluster and Tweeting missteps, has us riding a tide of optimism and hope that is sadly the exact opposite of what the left wants.  Shared misery in favor of handouts and re-enslavement are their stock in trade, while their so contemptible president delivers that which they could never imagine, much less seek to accomplish.  So they can have all the savoir faire they can gag on.  I’ll take results anytime.  And just so you know, any leader who bears the ignorant ill will of a miscreant the ilk of Whoopi Goldberg is a candidate for my support.
