Geraldo Rivera: Fox News Colleagues ‘Extremely Unfair’ to Rep. Rashida Tlaib

Guy With Mustache: 'You Want to ‘Diminish This Woman’

Fox News correspondent and bearer of "Snidely Whiplash" facial accessory, Geraldo Rivera defended Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) against criticism of her blatant anti-Semitism from Fox News host Sean Hannity and correspondent Dan Bongino Tuesday night, accusing the two of “trying to diminish this woman.”

Tlaib is under fire for her comments on a recent Yahoo News podcast.

“There’s a kind of a calming feeling, I always tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence, in many ways, had been wiped out,” Tlaib said during her appearance. “All of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time.”

“Congresswoman Talib… I think has really been victimized in a way that is unmistakable,” Rivera said in defense of Tlaib.

Rivera insisted that “there’s no way you can read her remarks on the calming effect — as my dear colleague Dan Bongino has done — as being related to her feelings about the Holocaust.”

“It is an obscenity to try to make that argument,” he added. “She was not suggesting that you know, the killing of the Jews was something that calmed her. She was saying the fact that the Palestinians suffered so much and gave up so much but at least the Jews had a homeland to go to in the wake of the destruction committed by the Nazis.”

Geraldo also noted that... Oh hell, just watch the damn video:

In the end, who are we to say whether or not Rep. Tlaib harbors hatred in her heart for the Jewish people? She does, of course, but who are we to say for sure?

Either way, it's probably best to avoid using the words "Holocaust" and "calming" in the same sentence regardless of intent, no?

Hey, wanna see Geraldo Rivera tying a damsel in distress to a railroad track?
