Impeachment Day 1: In Which Adam Schiff Demonstrates His Complete Ineptitude

Wednesday marked the beginning of House Democrats' highly-anticipated political clown show, "The Impeachment Follies!"

House "Intelligence" Chairman Adam Schiff did not disappoint with his bumbling questioning of witnesses and stunning proclamation that he does not know the identity of the Ukrainian whistleblower.

GOP National spokesperson Liz Harrington joined the Hammer and Nigel show to offer his perspective on Wednesday's hearing.

"It was a complete show trial and there was nothing new," said Harrington. "It was all a bunch of hearsay and questions about what the President was thinking when we can all read the transcripts of the call for ourselves."

She continued: "What we saw was merely an extension of the closed-door hearings that Adam Schiff has been running. He's been instructing witnesses; he's been shutting down Republican's line of questioning. Adam Schiff is as bad an actor as he is a screenwriter when he pretends he doesn't know the identity of the whistleblower. He's lying to us again."

Harrington characterized the impeachment hearings as an extension of Democrats' efforts to overturn the 2016 election.

"It's not about the policy; it's not about anything," said Harrington. "And if it was actually about the truth and the facts, this thing wouldn't even be going on right now because it's so far removed from the reality, which is that this is nearly a conversation about corruption in Ukraine."

She continued: "Present Trump's phone call was a free-flowing conversation and [Ukraine] got the money. So what are we even talking about here?"
