Indiana 5th Grader with Autism Given "Most Annoying Male" Trophy... BY TEACHER
File this one under "What were you thinking, you insensitive, uncaring, unthinking, unbelievable MORON."
A teacher at the Bailly Preparatory Academy in Gary, Indiana gave an 11-year-old special needs child a trophy for "Most Annoying Male" at an annual end-of-year awards luncheon for fellow fifth graders and their parents on May 23.
"We were blindsided. We just weren't expecting it," the boy's father, Rick Castejon, told the Times of Northwest Indiana. "As a principal or teacher, you should never let this happen to any student."
According to Castejon, parents fell silent as the trophy was presented to his son at the school's awards luncheon, held at the Merrillville Golden Corral.
It's inscribed “BAILEY PREPARATORY ACADEMY 2018-2019 MOST ANNOYING MALE.”
Castejon said he tried to leave the trophy behind on the table before the teacher, herein after referred to as "the dumbass," stopped him and told him not to forget it.
The school district has now apologized for the incident and said that "the dumbass" in question has been disciplined.
