Omar Says Stupid Things About 9/11, Blames President Trump for Subsequent Death Threats

Welcome to The Party, Rep. Ilhan Omar!

As the saying goes, "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time." Or in the case of freshmen Rep. and anti-Semite Ilhan Omar, "Don't make the controversial, insensitive, tone-deaf, asinine, comments about 9/11 if you... Actually, just don't do it PERIOD!"

Rep. Omar was speaking at a dinner last month for the Council of American-Islamic Relations in California. In her comments, she indirectly blamed President Donald Trump for anti-Islamic sentiment and attacks on the Muslim community.

Yes, Islamic terrorists flying planes into buildings and killing thousands of Americans, beheading videos, and ISIS burning folks to death in cages can be overlooked, but when President Trump starts advocating for specific travel bans, which ironically mirror similar policies from the Obama administration, that's when reasonably intelligent Americans started saying, "Gee Wally, maybe there are some issues with the Islamic faith we should explore with caution."

At any rate, Rep. Omar, nationally-renowned for her anti-Semitic rhetoric, stated the following during her speech:  "I think that many of us knew that this was going to get worse because we finally have a leader, a world, leader, in the White House, who publicly says Islam hates us, who fuels hate against Muslims, who thinks it is OK, it is OK to speak about a faith and a whole community in a way that is dehumanizing."

She continued: “Here’s the truth. Far too long we have lived with the discomfort of being a second-class citizen and, frankly, I’m tired of it, and every single Muslim in this country should be tired of it. CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties."

As one would imagine, folks on the right were a might bit pissed about the "some people did something" part. President Trump expressed the sentiment of many via his Twitter account.

Apparently Ms. Omar is now receiving death threats, and predictably - like all liberals - she's blaming the President for those threats rather than taking responsibility for her idiotic comments, or pointing the finger at the disgusting individuals who threatened her life.

WIBC's Nigel of the Hammer and Nigel show accurately summed up the reality of the situation during Monday's show.

Nigel:

"Welcome to the party. I don't think anybody deserves death threats, but when you have a history of making anti-Semitic comments and tweets and then the cherry on top is your insensitive and dismissive comments about 9/11, yeah, you're going to get raked over the coals."

Hammer:

"Exactly, and having a difference of opinion about something or disagreeing with their comments is not the same as bullying somebody."
