At this stage of your development as a listener to the Hammer and Nigel show, you are undoubtedly aware of the existence of one Rob M. Kendall – a charming fellow with ill-fitting T-shirts and a dream in his heart to one day be Governor of Indiana.

Kendall is also a political savant with more knowledge on local government and legislation than is normal or healthy, but it comes in handy when it’s time to get into the weeds on topics of interest to Indiana taxpayers.

Thursday afternoon, Ragin’ Rob joined the show to drill down on the issue of referendums – a general vote by the electorate on a single political question that has been referred to them for a direct decision – and how local school districts have exploited them for reasons that stray from their originally intended purpose.

Too vague? Alright, let’s get specific!

The city of Beech Grove is preparing to roll out a referendum for their school district in order to facilitate a raise in pay for its teachers. The problem, however, is that local taxpayers are concerned by some questionable circumstances surrounding a previous referendum. Residents have also expressed misgivings related to the approximately $2.5 million that is currently wrapped up in Beech Grove school administration funding, which is an anomaly in comparison to other districts of similar size.

Hammer and Nigel broke down the specifics with wannabe governor Rob Kendall in the segment below. Click to enjoy and share the lovin’ s**t out of it:
