The Hammer and Nigel Show
Tuesdays with Tony: Andre Carson & Todd Rokita
It’s time for Tuesday’s with Tony; the weekly segment where Hammer and Nigel sit down with WIBC’s very own Tony Katz. This week’s topic of conversation include Tony’s recent war of words with Rep. Andre Carson and Todd Rokita’s comments on the upcoming senate primary debate, which he made Monday on the Hammer and Nigel Show.
We’ll start with Rep. Carson. For weeks, Tony has been outspoken in his criticism of Rep. Carson’s relationship with Louis Farrakhan, who has a history of anti-Semitic comments. Things escalated this week after Carson mentioned Tony in an IndyStar article.
"I think what Tony Katz is doing on WIBC is hate speech. He's putting my life and my children's lives in jeopardy. He's jeopardizing the lives of staff members in my office."
“That statement in terms of validity is a flat out lie… It’s a lie that I’ve put his family in danger, but I’m certain that he has now put my family in danger… I believe in what he has done here is said to his supporters, ‘Look at this guy who is attacking me. Here’s this guy’s name, here’s where he works. What do you think we should do about that?”
We move on to Todd Rokita in what we at the Hammer and Nigel Show are calling #DebateGate. To recap; Rep. Rokita declined to participate in the upcoming senate primary debate. In a press release and during an interview with Hammer and Nigel, Rep. Rokita criticized Abdul, who will be moderating the debate. We get Tony’s thoughts on Rokita’s comments about the debate and his remarks about Abdul.
