Listen Live

Earlier this year, music superstar Kanye West made waves by publicly wearing a MAGA hat and tweeting that though he doesn’t agree with everything that Trump does, “the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother.”

West faced an extraordinary backlash for his statements, and he’s pushed back at critics every step of the way.

Last night’s appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” was no different.

At one point when Kimmel asked West about his support of Donald Trump and whether the President cares about black people, he simply fell silent and stared.

Following that awkward pause and a brief commercial break, West made seized the opportunity to make himself clear.

“It’s not about policies because I’m not a politician like that,” West told Kimmel, saying that it had taken him “a year and a half” to work up to wearing a MAGA hat. “It represented overcoming fear and doing what you felt no matter what anyone said, and saying, ‘You can’t bully me.’”

Okay, so not the greatest nor the strongest response he could have given, but at least he’s not backing down.

WIBC hosts Hammer and Nigel played the audio of last night’s exchange between Kimmel and West, before Nige offered up an “Alex Jones level conspiracy.”

Nigel:

“What if Trump told Kim Kardashian, ‘Hey look, you can come here; we’ll meet. But first, I want Kanye to come out in support of me.’”

Hammer:

(laughs) “Right! ‘We need a strong black figure in the black community to come out in support of Trump. Let’s make a deal.’”

Nigel:

“Just call me Nigel Alex Jones Laskowski”
