There’s something in the water at the KCRA studios in Sacramento that causes staff members to lose any all semblance of what constitutes “good judgment.”

Let Hammer and Nigel take you by the hand and guide you along the path of poor decision-making with a look at KCRA Sacramento’s finest moments.

4. Arson is Fun!

August 1, 2014, as reported by Sacramento’s CBS13:

The fiance of a FOX40 anchor was arrested on arson and drug charges, and she is also facing theft charges in an unrelated case.

A May 6 fire broke out at the South Sacramento home of FOX40 morning anchor Sabrina Rodriguez and her fiance, Nicholas Gray, injuring one firefighter.

The couple said they believed the stove exploded.

Several months later, Gray was arrested and booked into Sacramento County Jail on charges of arson, battery, manufacturing meth and possession of marijuana or hashish for sale. His bail was set at $600,000.

Rodriguez later turned herself into Folsom Police on unrelated charges after a warrant was issued for her arrest.

The FOX40 anchor was accused of grand theft, burglary and conspiracy in an alleged shoplifting incident in March 2013 at the Coach Outlet store in Folsom. Police say Rodriguez helped an accomplice steal $2,500 worth of wallets.

3. Dancing with Myself!

December 12, 2012, as reported by Times Reporter:

Tia Ewing, a Sacramento, Calif., anchor for Fox 40, was caught dancing on camera during the commercial break to Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies.” “I gotta get it where I can get it,” Ewing later said on air. “I just didn’t know the camera was rolling!”

2. Lewd Nude Dude in the News: KCRA Edition

April 20, 2020, as reported by Daily Mail:

Melinda Meza, a correspondent for KCRA 3 in Sacramento, accidentally filmed her husband naked –  swinging free in all his glory – in the shower while covering a report from the bathroom of her home.

1. Hot Mic: You’re Sending me to Cover F***** Chickens

May 18, 2020, as reported by Hammer and Nigel:

A cameraman covering a grass fire didn’t realize he was streaming live, as he proceeded to drop tons of profanities, announce he would put a fire out with his C***, and stating multiple times that he hates his job.

H&N Pro-Tip: The video is loaded with profanities and is NOT BLEEPED.

All of a sudden, Hammer and Nigel look like model employees.
