Fox News host and best-selling author Jesse Watters called into the Hammer and Nigel Show Tuesday to discuss his new book, “How I Saved The World,” now #1 on the New York Times Best Sellers list.
Spoiler Alert: The book is fantastic, and we wouldn’t say that if we didn’t mean it. We talk to a lot of authors on our show. When their books suck, we just tell them, “Congratulations on getting published!”
“It’s great to be number one [on the NYT],” Watters told Hammer and Nigel. “Had I been number two, I would have said ‘the New York Times rigged it again!'”
Watters’ book begins by simply declaring, “I’m Watters and this is my book.” Each of the 16 chapters sticks with the titular theme, with names such as “How I Saved Journalism,” “How I Saved Christmas,” “How I Saved Hollywood” and, of course, “How I Saved My Mom’s Texts.”
“It’s a comedy book, but there’s also a lot of political insight and stories from my days on ‘The Factor,’ traveling around, ambushing people, talking to idiots, and some great tales that are going to make you laugh, but also make you think,” said Watters.
And in typical Watters fashion, all of the quotes on the jacket of the book rip the “Watters World” host to shreds.
“Yeah, I didn’t want to ask a bunch of famous people to write nice things about me – mainly because I didn’t want to owe Hannity any favors,” joked Watters. “So I just Googled myself and put a bunch of hate mail on the back jacket.”

The book also covers Watters’ career from working in the Fox News mailroom to hosting two Fox News programs.
“Yeah, I started in the basement at Fox News and now I’m on ‘The Five’ and have ‘Watters World,’ the host and author told Hammer and Nigel. “And if you’re a young person in high school or college, buy this book because it’s really an inspiring read about how to just keep your head down and do what you’re told, [because] a lot of my success was just based off of obedience,” Watters added.
