Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) implied in an interview with SiriusXM host Joe Madison Friday that Black people who choose to support President Donald Trump in the 2020 election are traitors to their race.

“Any of them showing their face, I will never ever forgive them for undermining the possibility to help their own people and their own communities,” said Waters. “It is absolutely unconscionable.”

The 82-year-old example of why we need term limits then accused the President of sowing division.

Waters: “The divisiveness that this deplorable human being has caused, the confrontation, the dog-whistling to the right-wing, the white supremacists, the KKK, and they’re coming alive. They’re emboldened because they’ve got a leader who wants them to do it. What did he say to the proud boys? Stand back and stand ready? Ready for what  – confrontation? Give me a break, Joe. I thank you. I know you’re on it, doing everything that you can. We’ve got to shout it from the rooftops – vote, vote, vote.”

What an empowering message of unity for the Black community: Sit where you like on the bus and use whichever drinking fountain you like, but no voting for Republicans!

Still, there’s no question that Americans are as polarized as they’ve ever been heading into the 2020 election. Differing opinions over Trump have destroyed many lifelong friendships and family relationships.
