5 Ways to Spruce Up Your Garden for the Fourth of the July
Yes, you read that right. The Fourth of July is coming up and if you are like us, it may have slipped your mind. We have five easy ways to decorate your yard and garden besides just sticking some American Flags around (which is always a classic.)
Here are some other ideas to prove to your neighborhood that you are a true patriot. That’s what the holiday is all about right? That, and BBQ. (We kid!)
A Container Garden
If you feel in the mood to go all in and plant some gorgeous colored flowers, a container garden is perfect. You can display it on your patio or on the porch and enjoy it for the rest of the summer. Check out this patriotic container garden for inspiration.
Turn a Pallet into a Flag
There are so many places to find a pallet of wood. Local hardware store is a great start! Grab some paint and use the pallet as a layout for an American Flag, like this one. Lean it against the wall on your porch or by the front door. It can add a rustic-country look to your decorations.

Recycle Mason Jars
Use mason jars or tins laying around the house (we all have some somewhere in a drawer or pantry) and grab some red, white, and blue paint. This is a great one to do with kids too! Place flowers or pretty lights inside for when it gets darker out.
For tin cans you could even poke holes to create a fun Fourth of July design. Hang them around the house or place them on the porch for a pretty holiday glow!
Create Some Garden Markers
If you want to add something different to your flower boxes, grab some wooden stars at the local craft store. They come cheap and usually in bundles.
Paint them different colors of the flag or gold then you can glue a Popsicle stick to the back. Pop those garden markers through any container or flower box for a bit of red, white, and blue pop!
Maybe you want an idea that requires little to no effort (hey, we don’t judge!) Try grabbing some wire star garland at the store and wrap it around some pots and planters. Usually the garland is in front of the store and fairly cheap which is a bonus!
