Where To Dispose Your Christmas Tree in Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Department of Public Works and Indy Parks are here to take your live tree off your hands

Now that Christmas is over it's time to start taking down the tree for the new year. A BIG mistake many make is trying to burn your live tree at home or worse inside the home.

Please do NOT use your fireplace for disposing your tree. It's not only smokey, but pretty dangerous.

Here is a list of local parks in the community you can drop your tree off in a safe and easy way through the city's tree recycle program!  

Areas are open from dusk to dawn up until January 31st of 2019. 


Broad Ripple Park, 1610 Broad Ripple Ave.

Ellenberger Park, 5301 E. St. Clair St.

Garfield Park, 2432 Conservatory Drive

Gustafson Park, 3110 Moller Road

Krannert Park, 605 S. High School Road

Northwestway Park, 5253 W. 62nd St.

Perry Park, 451 E. Stop 11 Road

Riverside Park, 2420 E. Riverside Drive

Sahm Park, 6801 E. 91st St.


Don't forget to make sure all ornaments and decoratations are off the tree.
