A hard-hitting and presumably male journalist in full makeup took the opportunity during a virtual Q&A with Joe Biden Monday to thank the president for all he has done for the LGBTQ+ community. His heartfelt words of gratitude followed a thought-provoking question regarding which skincare product the president would take with him if he were going to be stranded on a desert island.

The journalist’s question is one we should all soberly ponder with great seriousness. One never knows when one might find oneself unexpectedly stranded on a desert island with zero bars on their smartphone – especially when one is the President of the United States, and ESPECIALLY when that president is Joe Biden. As we’ve learned from experience, you never know when the ole’ pushup champ might wander away from his caregivers.

Secret Service agents really ought to put a GPS bracelet on the POTUS, don’t you think?

But putting aside the common frustration of determining what to pack for your unexpected stay at Gilligan’s Island, it was both refreshing and brave for this modern-day Walter Cronkite to praise President Biden for his LGBTQ+ good deeds. After all, Biden’s previous track record with the LGBTQ+ community has been less than stellar.

When the president was just a lowly U.S. senator from Delaware, he voted on legislation that included the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that prohibited openly gay individuals from serving in the U.S. military and a law defining marriage as between a man and a woman.

But like all esteemed U.S. politicians with deeply-rooted principles that “evolve” with the latest polling numbers, Biden 2.0 is a different man today than he was in the past. Some of that might have to do with personality changes that are commonly observed in patients suffering from the early stages of dementia, but that is of little consequence really. Biden is ‘different’ now, and that’s what matters.

“Look, man,” the point is this: Joe Biden loves and supports the LGBTQ+ community – even if he doesn’t really know what that acronym means.

To celebrate Joe’s change of heart, we’ve put together a comprehensive list of all the forward-thinking moves Biden has made on the behalf of the LGBTQ+ community since becoming president:

#1.

And that about covers it.
