Democrats are blatantly terrified by the prospect of former U.S. President Donald Trump making a political comeback. They’re so worried, in fact, that they’re introducing bills to block the billionaire businessman from attaining official government positions that he doesn’t even WANT!
The Proof:
Pennsylvania Democrat Congressman Brendan Boyle has introduced the MEMBERS ACT, which is not about penises. The bill would end a current House of Representatives’ loophole and only allow elected members to become the Speaker of the House.
Fact: The Constitution does not require the Speaker to be a member of the House, but when have Democrats been fans of the Constitution anyway?
Rep. Boyle’s panic comes after Republican lawmakers and commentators have merely mentioned the suggestion of Trump being appointed Speaker by Republican lawmakers if they regain power in the 2022 midterm elections.
“The Speaker of the US House is second in the United States presidential line of succession,” said Boyle. “That Donald Trump’s name would even be tossed around as a potential speaker in the people’s house, should serve as an alarm bell that our current requirements need to be amended in the name of protecting our nation and our democracy” added Boyle.
As it turns out, Trump was completely unaware of that loophole until Rep. Boyle brought it to his attention via this legislation. Guess what position Trump suddenly has an overwhelming intense in attaining now?
When interviewed by radio host Wayne Allyn Root last month, Trump said the idea was “so interesting.”
