Attorney General Todd Rokita Can Sure Hold A Grudge

Attorney General Todd Rokita blocked WIBC’s Abdul-Hakim Shabazz of IndyPolitics.org from attending an October 14th press conference related to a robocall lawsuit.

Rokita’s office told the IndyStar that Shabazz was denied entry because the event was for “actual journalists.”

The reality is that Shabazz was turned away from the press conference because Todd Rokita can’t let go of a grudge.

In April of 2018, then-Senate candidate Rokita initially refused to participate in GOP primary debate with fellow candidates U.S. Rep. Luke Messer and former state Rep. Mike Braun.

Rokita’s justification was that Republican primary debates should be moderated by conservatives — not “liberal media figures” and “liberal college professors.”

The moderator for that event was none other than Abdul-Hakim Shabazz.

Rokita’s childish antics and bullying of Shabazz through local media failed to achieve his presumed objective: a change in moderator for the event.

Rokita finally relented and chose to participate, but the damage was done. Voters got a first-hand look at Rokita’s childish and petty nature when it came to dealing with his “perceived” adversaries.

Rokita ultimately failed in his bid for U.S. Senate, and it’s clear from this latest dust-up with Shabazz that he holds him in some way responsible for that loss.

Rokita appears incapable of seeing through his bitterness. What a pity, because personal career ambition aside, the people of Indiana have benefited enormously from having Todd Rokita as our Attorney General. He’s been a tremendously fierce advocate for conservatives in our state and conservative values.

Mr. Rokita, your ongoing feud with Abdul-Hakim Shabazz is childish and beneath the office of the Attorney General. Focus on the many victories you’ve handed the people of our state in your current role and continue to focus on the future.

Also, three years is a long time to hold a grudge. Seek counselling, sir.
