Biden’s Team Cuts Mic As President Laughs At Afghanistan Question
President Joe Biden laughed and delivered a sarcastic answer to a reporter’s question Wednesday about the ongoing evacuation of Americans from Afghanistan, prompting the White House to cut his mic.
As the president wrapped up the public portion of a cybersecurity event, NBC News correspondent Peter Alexander asked: “Mr. President, if Americans are still in Afghanistan after the [Aug. 31 withdrawal] deadline, what will you do?”
Biden attempted to ignore the question, but Alexander wouldn’t let up.
“Sir, what will you do if Americans are still there after the deadline?” he asked.
That’s when Biden’s audio ‘mysteriously’ dropped out.
Alexander later tweeted that Biden answered: “You’ll be the first person I call.”
Congrats on another successful mission of “Operation: Protect Joe,” White House.
